Many people think that slavery was abolished many years ago, but did you know that there are over 40 million people living in slavery across the world right now? So as we slowly come out of our year long lockdown, we are getting together with 39 other groups of friends to raise awareness of all those who will not go free. Each one of our friends represents 1 million enslaved people. Will you help us to raise money to move as many people as possible into freedom?

Story

Going the miles in May to break the grip of modern slavery. Slavery is abhorrent – the latest estimates put the number of global victims at 40 million and our own research, based on police data, suggests more than 100,000 victims in the UK alone. We are hoping to get 40  households to commit to cover as many miles (running/swimming/biking/paddleboarding/canoeing/skate boarding/scooting etc) as possible during the month of May . 1 household for every million estimated modern-day slavery victims. Help us break the grip of slavery!

  • £15 could pay for a simple hygiene pack for someone who has just been rescued from slavery in the UK
  • £50 could help provide access to therapeutic services, helping a survivor come to terms with their experience
  • £100 can help provide essential training to the police officers, prosecutors and the judiciary to help ensure those responsible for trafficking are brought to justice
