Clarissa's Transatlantic Row

" Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do . So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream . Discover “ Mark Twain. This year I will be turning 60 and this has inspired me to take on a personal, mental and physical challenge, so I would like to use this opportunity to raise money for a worthy charity that helps men ,women and children out of slavery

Story

I first crossed the Atlantic with my husband and 2 year old in our sailing boat when we were in our early 20s but rowing across 40 years later will be a whole new challenge. I got inspired earlier this year, standing on the dockside seeing the rowers complete their final stint and finishing in Antigua. After chatting to some of the crew and hearing their stories I went home and felt truly inspired.
I've always had a heart for children especially the marginalized and being respite foster carers for the last 5 years has been a rewarding experience. so taking on this challenge I'm hoping to raise money towards alleviating the world wide crisis of trafficked women and children.
Justice and care are an trustworthy hardworking charity and every penny raised will go directly to them.
Donate
  • £15 could pay for a simple hygiene pack for someone who has just been rescued from slavery in the UK
  • £50 could help provide access to therapeutic services, helping a survivor come to terms with their experience
  • £100 can help provide essential training to the police officers, prosecutors and the judiciary to help ensure those responsible for trafficking are brought to justice
