RideLondon 2022

My RideLondon 2022

I'm taking on the 100 mile Ride London 2022 challenge for Justice & Care because I believe passionately in the work they are doing to rescue victims of slavery and trafficking, helping them rebuild their lives, working with police to bring justice and securing communities at risk.

Story

There are an estimated 40 million people living in slavery worldwide - at least 100,000 in the UK alone. Modern slavery is the fastest growing crime in the world.

I refuse to stand by and do nothing, which is why I'm taking part in RideLondon 2022 in support of Justice & Care, an award-winning anti-slavery charity that is bringing freedom to those living in the grip of slavery and empowering them to rebuild their lives.

Justice & Care support victims like Helena*, who was trafficked to the UK into sexual exploitation. She was moved between brothels across numerous cities for nearly three years and forced to work without a break day after day. After being rescued by the police, one of Justice & Care's Victim Navigators assisted Helena into safe accommodation, helped her to access trauma-informed counselling and supported her to provide critical evidence to the police, which then led to other victims being rescued.

Helena said: "You are the first person in a long time that has helped me believe something can be changed."

Everything you give will help the work of Justice & Care. Your contribution will help make a difference in their work in the UK, mainland Europe and Asia and will spur me on!

Together, let's give the gift of freedom.

  • £50 could help provide access to therapeutic services, helping a survivor come to terms with their experience
  • £100 can help provide essential training to the police officers, prosecutors and the judiciary to help ensure those responsible for trafficking are brought to justice
