J&C Team Tough Mudder

My Justice and Care Team Tough Mudder

I am taking on a tough mudder with my team to raise money for Justice and Care's life-changing work fighting human trafficking and modern slavery. Apparently the obstacles include sheer drops into mud and electric shocks!?!

Story

There are an estimated 40 million people living in slavery worldwide - at least 100,000 in the UK alone.

At Justice & Care, we are committed to doing all we can to fight this horrific crime and bring freedom to those living in the grip of slavery.

With this in mind, this September, the J&C team are taking on a Tough Mudder challenge to raise essential funds for our programmes. Our target is to raise £3,000 to support three survivors of slavery in the UK for a year. This challenge will be tough but it doesn't even begin to compare to the challenges brave survivors face daily to restore their lives.

Your support will help victims like Helena*, who was trafficked to the UK into sexual exploitation. She was moved between brothels across the country for nearly three years and forced to work without a break day after day. After being rescued by the police, one of our Navigators assisted Helena into safe accommodation, helped her to access trauma-informed counselling and supported her to provide critical evidence to the police, which then led to other victims being rescued.

Helena said: "You are the first person in a long time that has helped me believe something can be changed."

Your contribution will make such a difference to the lives of survivors we are supporting and will spur me on!

Together we can give the gift of freedom.

Donate
  • £15 could pay for a simple hygiene pack for someone who has just been rescued from slavery in the UK
  • £50 could help provide access to therapeutic services, helping a survivor come to terms with their experience
  • £100 can help provide essential training to the police officers, prosecutors and the judiciary to help ensure those responsible for trafficking are brought to justice
